Asbestos Survey: know where asbestos is located and what condition it is in

These tiny dusts are a pain to deal with and can cause harm to our lungs if not attended to.

Based on the “Code of Practice for the Management and Control of Asbestos in Workplaces; [NOHSC:2018(2005)], we can come to your operation and perform an asbestos survey.

Our assessors use professional judgement and experience to identify and record materials suspected of containing asbestos (Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM)) that are inaccessible. The survey is aimed at being predominantly qualitative; however, if required non-destructive and representative ‘bulk’ sampling with subsequent analysis may take place to confirm the presence of asbestos. Sampling and analysis of suspected-to-be ACM will only be undertaken if given verbal authority from the client.

We ask that a client be available to escort GCG’s consultant(s) where required to ensure that all areas are inspected and accessible for the completion of survey work; while providing a safe environment for the scope of works. Adequate access and egress is required to all areas including roof spaces so we will probably want to discuss this or take a look when scoping begins.

Following the completion of the site visit, all samples collected will be dispatched to the nominated NATA laboratory. We will then provide a detailed report following the completion of the analysis, which will outline the results, findings and recommendations including:

  • Sampling methodologies
  • Type of material sampled
  • Sampling location
  • Photographs of each sample
  • Where possible sampling points will be marked on diagrams to assist in pinpointing the sampling point.
  • NATA-accredited laboratory results
